Life isn't only lived in classrooms.
Some of the most meaningful lessons happen during ordinary conversations, quiet walks home, shared laughter, and moments when someone simply needs another person to listen.Here, we practice living with Jesus together.Through guidance, presence, encouragement, and intentional care, our Dorm Mothers walk alongside students as they continue becoming who God is shaping them to be.

Sacred Reminders

You are a Royal Priesthood, and you are forever loved in Jesus.

Why the Porch?Because the light was on for me, so I keep it on for others.The Porch of LUI is my witness of what happened when I chose Jesus and kept saying YES to Him.Jesus met me there.
He sat with me there.
He taught me there.
He loved me there.And through ordinary days, difficult days, answered prayers, unanswered questions, blessings I recognized and blessings I almost missed, He continued to show me that He was there.The Porch became a place where I learned to notice His presence and His faithfulness while actually living life with Him.So I keep the Porch Light on.Not because everyone’s relationship with Jesus should look like mine, but because everyone deserves a place where they can come as they are, pull up a chair, and spend time with Him for themselves.Around here, Porch time is respected.We believe one-on-one time with Jesus is necessary to sustain a life lived with Him.We return to the Porch to sit with Him, talk with Him, listen, pray, breathe, process, be still—and sometimes simply be with Jesus.Then we get up and live.And as we live, we learn to notice.Where was Jesus today?
What did He carry me through?
Where did I see His goodness?
What blessing almost passed me by?
What did I witness?That's why we gather for Wednesday Night Porch Witness Sessions.Not to perform testimonies, but to share what we've witnessed while practicing living with Jesus.Because sometimes the witness is miraculous.
And sometimes the witness is simply:“He kept me this week.”Both matter.The Porch of LUI exists because somebody kept the light on long enough for me to find Jesus there.The light was on for me.So I keep it on for others.That’s why the Porch. 🤎🏡💡
